Listed on this page are opportunities for women only. Sure some might say that's being exclusionary , restrictive and not politically correct, but the fact is, in a male dominated activity, in a club that is more than 80% males, there are fewer opportunities for us girls that come along. I'd like to change that.
I would also like to offer a safe feeling environment for women who may feel a little intimidated by all that male company. I never realized this was a problem until I started asking why there were so few women involved in what should be the perfect activity for women who love being outdoors, and I know that's a lot of you.
In Michigan
Flygirls of Michigan offers some great opportunities, throughout the year, many within a half a day's drive, at prices I can't duplicate here. Not even close. Single day trips are not very practical but the weekend trips certainly are. Membership to the Flygirls is free, however they require a membership in The Federation of Fly Fishers. You will also require a Non Resident All Species Michigan Fishing License . This can be done electronically. Deb is a member of FlyGirls and participates in many of these events. She is willing to share rides and accommodations with any Forest City Fly Fishing Club member. who wants to go along.

My name is Deb and I am an active member of this club. I will be posting opportunities on this site as they come up. I am also open to suggestions for creating other opportunities for women. These could be casting clinics, small group seminars on various subjects or something as simple as a local fishing outing. I’m open to your ideas and looking forward to hearing from you. My goal is to provide an inviting environment and increase female participation.
